The Pianoforte Tuners’ Association was founded in 1913 and has an international Membership. We are an active Member of Europiano, a Union of European Piano Tuners and Technicians Associations.
Working to the highest standards in the industry
To become a full Member of the PTA, applicants are required to pass a Membership Test to prove their ability as qualified tuners or technicians.
This test ensures the professional competence of all Members who are permitted to use the PTA Logo and letters MPTA after their name as assurance of their underlying skills.
The PTA believes that continual professional development is important. By providing a series of lectures and workshops given by experts from around the world its Members have access to the most up to date information and developments in the piano industry.
